Maintaining Quality Carpets - Certifications & Ratings
Sylka™ carpets are certified to a commercial density rating of up to 1,000 traffics per day, giving it heavy domestic to moderate contract grading. However, you will find that many of our carpets and rugs are certified to withstand heavy commercial applications too. Please refer to the description under each product or filter your selection based on desired use.
Aquadefence Carpet Treatment
SYLKA™ floorcoverings offer superb protection against spills, however, to ensure exceptional stain defence and maintain perfection, we have partnered with leading fabric protection system Aquadefence. Its innovative, eco-friendly coating provides a long lasting hydrophobic barrier.
Carpet Fibre Protection
Unlike other faux silk carpets that use organic-based fibres, both NuSilk® and EcoSylk® are entirely man-made, making them a perfect base for Stain Inhibitor treatment. This provides an additional layer of protection to the carpet fibres, making it easier to remove the most persistent stains. We have partnered with leading fabric protection system Aquadefence. Its innovative, eco-friendly coating provides a long lasting hydrophobic barrier.
Periodic Carpet & Rug Maintenance
Thorough cleaning by a reputable carpet cleaning company is recommended on a periodic basis to remove deep soiling. When commissioning a professional carpet cleaner, always check references and insurance details. Our recommended carpet cleaner is Ace Carpet Cleaners Ltd.
Regular Carpet Maintenance
The high density of SYLKA’s carpet fibres makes it challenging for day-to-day dust and pollution to penetrate the carpet beyond its surface. To contribute to this integrity, we highly recommend regular vacuuming, particularly in high traffic areas.
Interim Carpet Maintenance
If you feel that the colour and surface appearance needs to be refreshed, we recommend booking a comprehensive cleaning to revitalise the carpet’s properties. Recommended cleaning methods include Steam Extraction or Dry Cleaning. Please note that no bleaching agents are to be used. If in doubt, conduct a spot test in an inconspicuous area before any chemicals are used.
